Kirsty was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic in July 2007 the day after her 7th birthday.

Crusaders Against Diabetes was set up to help fund research to find a cure for this chronic condition and to help the support groups that help her and other children lead a happy and fulfilling life.

She is coping with diabetes brilliantly and we are incredibly proud of the way she handles this from day to day. She has to inject insulin at least 4 times a day in order to stay alive and that just sucks! She needs to keep a constant check on her blood glucose levels and manage insulin levels accordingly – if it’s not managed within “normal” levels she faces long term complications which could include organ damage, heart disease, blindness or amputation.

Healthcare professionals do a great job and deserve our support but we really need a cure and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is working to find one.

Please help us raise awareness by telling as many people as you can and point them to our donations page – every penny helps to consign Diabetes to the history books.
